Since 1992, Mr. SQUID has been the standard educational demonstration system for undergraduate physics lab courses.
Mr. SQUID® is a complete Superconducting QUantum Interference Device (SQUID) system based on high-temperature superconductor (HTS) technology. The Mr. SQUID® system consists of an HTS thin-film SQUID chip mounted on a rugged probe with removable magnetic shield, an advanced electronics control box, and a vacuum dewar flask. The Mr. SQUID® probe is immersed in a liquid nitrogen bath in the vacuum dewar flask, and the Mr. SQUID® electronics control box is used to display the SQUID characteristics on an oscilloscope or using an optional data acquisition module.
An extensive 100-page User’s Guide is provided detailing the operation of Mr. SQUID® and includes many experiments suitable for laboratory experiment courses. Mr. SQUID® demonstrates the principles of superconductive electronics with the addition of only liquid nitrogen and either an oscilloscope or an optional data acquisition module.

MS-OSC Microwave Oscillator
The Model MS-OSC Mr. SQUID Oscillator accessory for STAR Cryoelectronics’ Mr. SQUID Educational Demonstration System is a 44 GHz microwave oscillator for the Mr. SQUID Shapiro step experiment. The Mr. SQUID Oscillator accessory is compatible with all STAR Cryoelectronics’ Mr. SQUID probes and MS-EB03 control electronics.

The Model MS-FLL Mr. SQUID Flux-Locked Loop accessory for STAR Cryoelectronics’ Mr. SQUID Educational Demonstration System is used to operate Mr. SQUID in a locked-loop feedback mode. The Mr. SQUID FLL accessory is compatible with all STAR Cryoelectronics’ Mr. SQUID probes and MS-EB03 control electronics (Rev. B or later).

MS-DAQ Data Acquisition and Control Software
The Model MS-DAQ14 Mr. SQUID Digitizer accessory for STAR Cryoelectronics’ Mr. SQUID Educational Demonstration System enables students to digitize, display, and capture Mr. SQUID current-voltage (V-I) and voltage-flux (V-) characteristics on a Windows-based PC via a USB 2.0 interface. The digitizer is bus powered and based on a National Instruments 14-bit data acquisition device with 48 kS/s maximum sampling rate. A higher resolution model (MS-DAQ16 with 16-bits, 250 kS/s) is available for more demanding measurements applications. The Mr. SQUID Digitizer accessory is compatible with all STAR Cryoelectronics’ Mr. SQUID probes and MS-EB03 control electronics.

DS1M12 Stingray USB Oscilloscope from EasySYNC
The DS1M12 or Stingray Multi-Function Instrument, is powered from USB and needs no external power supply. The DS1M12 combines the functions of Oscilloscope, Data Logger, Spectrum Analyser, Volt Meter, Frequency Meter and Signal Generator in a single instrument. The DS1M12 features simultaneous 12-bit sampling on both channels, a native sampling rate of 1MS/s (20MS/s for repetitive signals), sophisticated hardware triggering including delayed time base and pulse width. It also has a 3rd channel which can be a waveform generator output or an external trigger input.
